U´s Cabinets, Racks And Cages

By Editor  On August 14, 2018September 20, 2018 In Uncategorized

Colocation facilities like WhitelabelITSolutions and ServeYourSite not only provide customers with great service and excellent prices but also with a variety of products like U cabinets, racks and cages. Cabinets come in a variety of styles, colors, and many contain baffles, fans, and other features, they enclose a rack with a frame that provides means for mounting equipment. A “Rack Unit” or “U” is an Electronic Industries Alliance or more commonly “EIA” standard measuring unit for rack mount type equipment; one rack unit is commonly designated as “1U”; 2 rack units are “2U” and so on. The size of a piece of rack mounted equipment is usually described as a number in “U”. One rack unit is also sometimes referred to as “1RU”. Data racks and cabinets use the same “U” designation the only difference between them is that data cabinets and data racks is that, racks are open, while cabinets are closed on all sides. Racks are typically only supplied for use inside cages so unless you are actually looking for a cage, getting cabinet space is the best option for you. Common uses include server, telecom, broadcast video, audio, and scientific lab equipment. Equipment designed to be placed in a rack is typically described as rack-mount, rack-mount instrument, a rack mounted system, a rack mount chassis, subrack, rack mountable, or occasionally simply a shelf. This mounting equipment also includes structural support, rails among others. They come with many specifications like formal standard rack and more depending or adapted to your needs. Colocation centers provide customers shared cabinet usage or private cabinet space depending on how much data cabinet space you require to accommodate in that unit.
